A school bus driver doesn’t “drive alone”. The actions of citizens in a community help ensure that children travel safely by school bus.  Safety Services Nova Scotia created this site to share information.  It was designed for persons living in Nova Scotia.  Regulations in other provinces/countries may differ.

What is Safety Services Nova Scotia?
Safety Services Nova Scotia (SSNS) is the province’s leading not-for-profit safety services provider for occupational, road and community safety. It is the former Nova Scotia Safety Council, and was established in 1958. Since then, SSNS has pioneered safety education and training programs that have improved the quality of life for Nova Scotians. For more than two decades, SSNS has coordinated an annual school bus safety campaign.

SSNS is a private, non-government, non-partisan organization. It has partnerships with many organizations to deliver training or coordinate annual events. It is also a provincial member of CAPSC, the Canadian Association of Provincial Safety Councils, enabling consistent programs and services to be offered to national clients. Our ISO 9000:2000 registration indicates that SSNS is committed to providing quality training and event planning in a consistent manner.    Back
